I'm pretty sure Weber and Victoria do a reverb/vib box with a similar circuit.
As far as pedals go I tried to find one and it was a waste of time so I just bought a vintage amp (62' Bandmaster) with a harmonically modulated tremolo circuit. Sadly I might have to sell it to pay some debts, but as soon as I get some money again I'll buy another. Look into getting an actual amp rather then a stomp box if you have the cash. There are a good few floating about here in the UK. I see them from time to time. |

Monster Effects Swamp Thang, done. Best brownface style tremolo out there. I've owned a real 1961 Fender Super, and the tremolo from this pedal is almost identical, (like 99.9%) to the sounds that used to come from that amp.

Best brownface-style trem in a pedal I've played is the Toneczar Powerglide. I matched parameters of the pedal to the trem of a '63 brown Deluxe, asked a buddy to A/B as I listened, and really couldn't discern any major differences.

the best i've heard (only through clips), are the magnavibe and, possibly the closest, is the creme de la trem. neither of them seem to have the harmonic swirl of the real thing though. i often play my father'in'law's brown super, and i believe a big part of that vibrato sound is a knackered old pine cab, dusty speaker and drifty components. a pedal just isn't going to get you there. close, but not there.

yeah... 2 different "brown" vibratos/tremolos...
The 3-tube harmonic vibrato: Fuchs just came out with a pedal that was designed to mimic this specifically. As for the good-'ol tube-bias trem, the best I found was a Monster Effects Swamp Thang, but there is ONE pedal maker who custom-makes actual tube-bias trem pedals called the Darth Fader. They are one-offs; call him & he'll make you one, but nobody has them "in stock" or anything. Someday, I'll get a Darth Fader if I don't get a real bias-vary AMP trem first!
