phase 90 tone issues for bass - help!
i bought and trialed an mxr phase 90 - the custom shop 'hand wired' 1974 script logo reproduction. it's to be part of my police project, bass player will be using it as per sting's nice, bulbous phased sound from '79 - 80.
http://www.thedelorean.net/audio/pol...ass-sample.mp3 however the mxr pedal i tried has issues. it sucks the sh&t out of my tone. volume and treble both suffer. are the custom shop reissues just bad or was the original the same? is there a better pedal for this or should i run the phase pedal alongside a preamp or something to offset the tone issues....? or is modding the phase 90 the way to go....? |
