Throughout the song (especially in the beginning) "Let It Loose" on the Rolling Stones' Exile On Main Street album there is an arpeggio guitar (probably Mr. Richards) that has a swelling, (rotating?) beautiful breathing sound that gives it a feeling of wide open space. What is the effect used on that guitar part?

Do you know the song or are you guessing from what I describe it like? It would be interesting what makes you think that's what it is.

Yeah, that's definitely a Leslie -- sounds kind of like a 145 but I'm not positive what Richards used. Sounds so butter...

yep leslie but you could probably dial it in on a good chorus pedal.

Definitely a Leslie. Man, I love that sound. Listen to Black Hole Sun for another fine example of that tone.

Yep a Leslie, beautiful song.
