Pandora vs. little PODS???
Hi,
Have I missed something where POD gets all the press but feature set of a Pandora looks superb for an elemental practice, effects and even looping tool? Thanks. |

not used a Pandora, but the specs do look really interesting.
I use a Pod X3 Live all the time and love it, but was not at all impressed with the Pocket Pod. Cheers BMF |

A friend of mine just tried out the Pandora PX4D the weekend before last, came home with it and spent all afternoon addicted to it. He highly encouraged me to get one. The money's not bad, and I could certainly use something like it with two small kids and a wife who goes to bed early. I have a first generation POD, but the Pandora has some accompaniment tools built in. I'm thinking about it.

Big thumbs for the Pandora!!! I think it not only sounds much better, but the drum machine phrase trainer and looper make it an easy winner IMHO. No clue as to why the Pod gets all of the press.

Thanks for the comments.
No seller in my metro area has the less expensive PX4D but they do have the PX5D. 5D is a big jump in price by comparison but brings USB interface and says "USB Mode transforms the PX5D into a stereo USB Audio interface for connecting to any DAW recording software" and "In its off hours, the Pandora PX5D moonlights as USB audio interface for all your computer needs, offering two-channel audio communication to and from your Mac or PC". I don't have a lot of interest in home recording but if the full feature set works it does look like a big feature set for the price where one gets drum machine, minimal looping and recording. |
