Same here... I kept reading about these dang pedals and finally broke down and bought one from one of the links in one of the threads.

I tried it last night into my Super Champ XD. I WAS impressed! It's kind of redundant with that amp as there are so many levels of overdrive available, but it played quite well with it.

Friday I'll be putting it into my Deluxe Reverb and putting it through it's paces.

I found it gave a very nice overdrive sound to it. It didn't really color the amp much when the tone knob was in the middle range.

I like it.

It won't replace my Fuzz or my OCD, but it will work nicely in conjunction.

If it is like a Timmy, then try running it after higher gain pedals. It really can goose them into space.
Also, I often use my Timmy to "EQ" everything on my pedalboard. At the end of the line, kinda "Masters" the Tones.

Timmy is a Swiss Army Knife of a pedal! So, if the Dano is close, you'll all probably keep it for a loooong time. And every time you decide to get rid of it, you'll find another cool use.

Really thickens up a Blackface Amp too.

And if you really like the To, you could always call Paul C., and order the real deal!

P.S.
His Amp designs for Heritage Amps, are also top notch. CHECKEMOUT!

I was playing my Dano Transparent OD for an hour. I bought the Drive pedal at the same time.

I have the two Dano's and a Maxon TS9 and a BBE Green Screamers.

I'm GAS free where dirt boxes are concerned. I know that it's not a Timmy. At this point I am so happy that I don't care.

Anyone know how the somehow even cheaper Dano Fab Overdrive compares to Transparent or the normal Drive pedals?

Also, I am not too well versed in terms of chaining pedals, so let me ask this. Currently to keep the noise down at home I am mostly playing through a solid state Fender Frontman 25R. I do have a DS-1 and a Dano Daddy-O from way back, but I am looking for more of a drive sound than a distortion.

Since I'm on a budget, which of these Dano drive pedals should I get, and should I bother with trying to insert these other distortion pedals into the mix, or just start fresh with the drive? Is the Transparent Overdrive more used to tweak other effects, or is that going to be awesome on its own? Thanks much.

OK. It's here and after some experimenting I can say that it's a keeper, so you can all relax.

I'm impressed that I can very easily set it so that there is virtually no difference in my sound with the pedal on or off. With my eyes shut I couldn't tell the difference. Then I could add the little bit of 'something' that I wanted to make solos a bit better. Touch of volume and a bit of gain to take my 'on-the-edge' amp just 'over' at gigs.

Looking forward to gigging it next week.

I keep trying to not like it and or at least find faults with it because it was so cheap but I still think it sounds great. I really like the fact that it can go from absolutely clean and up through just a hint of drive, which is usually my fave, and on up to pretty heavy od sounds. That range is exactly what I was looking for. And the od remains tight and warm all the way through the range. No Bluesdriver 'fizzy' tone and no mud.

Like I said in an earlier post it's not quite as transparent as I initially heard it to be. There is a slight midrange hump to it but it's very slight. It still allows for the true sound of the guitar to come through.
