Thanks Czech,
I don't know why it stops abruptly, maybe because it is digital. I know the Hardwire is true bypass, but it has a trailing switch in the battery compartment that will let the trailing continue, If I eve get mine, I think I will just leave it on all of the time, I have a digital effect on my amp that is real more like a delay, but it is usable, still ,want to hear what this is like, love the old spring sound. Since it is buffered , does it suck any tone when it is turned off ? Jim PS- Usuall Boss pedals are not tone suckers, their buffers work good |

It might work well in an effects loop, but i've never used effects loops. I find reverb pedals sound best after any delay pedals, which is usually the last pedal before your amp. And Guit30, I hooked it up to a true bypass loop and listened with it bypassed in and out of the signal chain,I didnt hear any noticable change in tone.but again I'm not extremely picky about the tone suck thing, and i'm using emg sa's too,so its really not an issue for me. Your right, this pedal will most likely be on for an entire song,so switching the tails off isnt really a huge problem, just wanted to mention it. |

Well, I just ordered mine. My BCB-3 will be loaded with my Boss DM-3, SD-1 with 808 mod and this when run in front of my '64 Fender Concert. It will eliminate hooking up my Alesis Nanoverb, which had a decent enough 'verb, but it sounds like this will be more like a true spring. I had the RV-5 for a while, but didn't really care for it enough to keep.
It's kind of funny how the few reviews so far are all over the map. I do have to wonder how some of the hyper-critical types would do if they weren't shown what they're listening to. |

$129 shipped from the big catalog stores like Sweetwater and American Musical Supply, with most offering a free "rebate" of an 18' Fender California guitar cord, which you must register on the Roland (Boss) site for. Most of these seem to be out of stock until next Tuesday.
I got mine on ebay for $119, no rebate. |

That sounds like a happening desert island trio of pedals there. I too used an alesis unit,a micro verb for a few years.great reverbs but nothing spring like or amp like about them. I think you will like the natural reverb sound of the boss unit. Its not over the top or cathedral like deep, it does one thing and one thing only,it sounds amp like and natural, especially for a pedal. However, after my experience on another forum,i'm just waiting for the tube purists to slam my opinions and tell me i have a tin ear. |

just back from the gig. that pedal is awesome, if you dig that retro-sound. on the first tunes i had it on a bit too much. then i backed off a bit on the dwell and mix and all was cool and still totaly dick-dale-ish. itīs great for slow slide stuff a la sleepwalk. i also kicked it in for some solos and that sounded really cool. great, great pedal. i have a pretty good reverb in my amp, but that is nothing in compare.

Just got mine and I'm blown away. I have a Fender Reverb Tank, not an original '63 but one I bought new around 1996. My intention was to get something close without spending lots, since the tank is an extra PITA when setting up.
This pedal is so close I'll probably put the tank in storage for awhile. I would say If you're gigging, or practicing it is more than suffficent. If you are recording on a high dollar tune destined to top the charts, and the producer is very nitpicky, the tank might be just a hair better, but the pedal will do just fine. |

I got to spend a bit more time with mine this afternoon, playing along with some Buddy Guy. It really sounded a lot nicer to me sitting amid some music than just noodling around. I was surprised how low I run the tone to please my ear (I'm usually a 12 o'clock kind of guy), but that's what knobs are for - to find the spot YOU like.
Next week, we'll gig it. |

Still not convinced, especially when you can pick up a used Fender Reverb unit for Ģ150 to Ģ200 or less it seems madness to buy a digital pedal. I just doesn't sound right yet. Something is always missing with these digital reverb pedals. To me they sound a bit like delay pedals that have gone a bit wrong.

I've been gigging with it for a couple of weeks now and it works great, haven't felt the need to bring out the Reverb Unit since.
Is it identical? No. Does it sound fine in a live band setting? You betcha. |
