"big-box" Dyna-Comp
Hey guys, I did the unthinkable this weekend, and traded off my old boss CS-2. In return for it, I got what I am calling a "big-box" MXR Dyna-Comp. It is huge, about twice the size of a Boss pedal, with two knobs: level, and sustain. It sounds absolutely amazing, (which is why I did the deal) but I have one problem with it.
It has the wierdest hiss I've ever heard. When I'm actually playing, you can't hear it, but in between songs, even with my guitars volume off, it sounds like a distant helicopter. Just a "fft fft fft fft fft fft fft" sound coming from my amp that disappears when you turn the pedal off. It came with the original paperwork and reciept, both dated 1985. I've used other Dyna-Comps and not had this problem. Is this somthing that is normal for this strange 80's model? Is there anything I can do about it? Thanx, Jake
