Using 9v DC in with a dry cell outside the enclosure (hard to explain)

So, here is a question... why can i not just hook a 9v battery to a cable that i can then insert into the 9v power input on the outside of the pedal. I have a couple pedals that don't have 9v clips inside and am doing some outdoor gigs. I wonder why i could not take a 9v snap clip and hook it to the powerall extender jibby and just power the sucka from a 9v dry cell like in this pic.

Anyone know? I tried this with several pedals to no avail. And yes, the battery does work (i tested it).

I rule (hee hee)

This does work! You just gotta flip the polarity. If you slip the red colored one in between it flips the polarity and it actually works. What a smart idea (i am sure i am not the first to think of it).... If you gig like this you can actually leave your pedals connected and just unhook the batt and you wont have to worry about battery drain.

Some pedals just chew batteries up and spit them out, there's no reason why you cannot wire a bunch of them in parallel - same volts, more amps.

huh?

or i can get a banana or a shovel or a sumbrarro.

As i explained above, i am doing a gig at a place that has no AC so the whole point is to do the whole thing battery powered and acoustic, but i have 2 pedals that have no battery snaps in them that i was hoping to use. I don't see how getting a powered board helps me since the whole reason for the workaround is that there aint no fregging power where i am headed.

Anyway this works. I rule. I am packing a bare Jensen P12R mounted in a back pack and a 1/4 watt amp. Gonna rock the mountain top!
