I have a wizard wah (Teese) that is very modern sounding so I'd probably steer away from it. I also have a Crybaby GCB95 that I have modded fairly heavily (TB, LED, Q, Vocal) It's cool but just a little old now. In the mail I have a Buddah Wah, should get it tomorrow. I hear they are really quite nice.

teese picture wah is a clone 60's wah pedal. they cut through like no other. if you want a vintage sounding wah wah that's in your face, get a picture wah. i got two of them and i love em very much.

Original Vox, Mutron C200 and the Teese "Joe Walsh" model are the three best.

I have an old Thomas Organ Crybaby, that I converted to true-bypass. Love it!

I have always liked my the dunlop classic wah. $70 new. plus the cost of modding it for true bypass (wire, dpdt switch) is only about $6.

Old or new Vox

Converting it to true bypass is an easy job if you so desire

Converting a VOX to true bypass doesn't help the sound at all. That only helps when they are off.

Vox 848 is true bypass and the 847 isn't.

DUNLOP 95Q

i bought my 95q the year they first came out,i think 97 or there abouts.
i bought it cause the rocker is spring loaded and switchless which to this day i really dig. if your a 'set it in the middle and walk away' wah player steer clear of this one as it turns off when you take your foot off.
but i use my wah alot for a quick tremolo wah effect on clean 6ths,chords and stuff, and the spring loaded feature made this a breeze.
its also the only wah ive found that sounds perfect clean and funky or with heavy distortion. is it true bypass? NO, and i beleive its digital so you purists will be turned off.but ive owned alot of wahs over the years and
its the only pedal that has had a permanent place on my pedalboard since the day i bought it.

I have a Arteffect Bonnie wah which is the nicest vintage voiced wah that I've had (and I've owned several Colorsounds and Jen wah's over the years).

A close second is my early Dunlop Cry Baby with a Fulltone pot. Sounds way better than than the newer one's to my ear.

-VOX 847 (mine's around 20 years old and has been modded with true bypass)
-Teese "Joe Walsh"

Obviously I've used the VOX a long time and I LOVE ITS TONE! Purchased the Teese "Joe Walsh" because of the many good things I heard about it and i LOVE it too. The JW has been getting more gig time and it sounds very musical too me. Nice both clean and for boosted sounds.
