Dan Electro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive.

This may be a dead subject by now but We will see.
I just received this pedal yesterday and am digging it so far for $29.00 solid metal nice tone and drive!!
Does it sound like a Timmy I have to pull Timmy out to A/B them but I like it the way it is so far.. and cheap.

I'd advise against that. I'd be like beating a dead horse with a live wire.

are they trying to say the timmy is better over on TGP or something? has anyone tried these side by side? i'd love to snag one if the dano really is as good. hell, even if it's close.

The You Tube link to the Timmy and Dano shootout!!
I don't think they sound the same I have a Timmy and it has it's own thing but the Dano for $40.00 is a sweet pedal.

Well, the TGP is known for being something of a corksniffer's forum. Nothing wrong with that; in moderation. Comparing a mass-produced (read: cheap) pedal with a boutique one (read: expensive) is never a good idea over there.

You want to start an even bigger stink, tell them you prefer it over the Klon.

It is what it is!!
I don’t compare anything, if it sounds good I keep it if it don't I am stuck with it!!
This pedal is a keeper and worth looking into doing some mods with maybe!!

Likes single coils and El-84 Amplifiers nice Jangle with the Strat good Green Grass and High Tides Outlaws the late Hughie Thomasson tone.

I am just wonder if anybody owns one of these and how you like it?

There's a HUGE thread over at the Gear Page about the Tim "contreversy". Apparently, Dano has admitted that it is a direct clone. A Dano rep chimed in on the thread and made a public statement, later stating that they would alter the pedal so they would not infringe upon another maker's product. (?) Hmmmm...... As you could imagine it's a hot-button subject over there, but those who have bought one love the pedal, and a few said it sounded exactly like it.

I have a dano TOD heading to me at this very moment and I can't wait to hear what this thing sounds like. Alot of people/forums saying it does great crunch. I was never in the market for a Timmy anyway but the Dano screams bang for buck.

I boost and OD with a Zoom PD-01 PowerDrive.
I wonder how it compares to that. Anyone got/had both?

Nope, same number of knobs. The middle control has two stacked tone controls, one for treble and the other for bass.

I didn't notice any change in the midrange, but I do feel the TOD eqs have less of a range than the Tim.

I'm pretty sure all of those Dano pedals are SMD construction.

It's got a place on the board and a great pedal for the price EEEEEHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
