Tim, Timmy, wich one?

I know you probably heard this a million times, but hey, help a brother out!

so, Tim, Timmy, which one should I get? I'm thinking Tim... what do you say? Are they really the best/most transparent low gain ODs around?

thanks a lot!

They are ONE of the most transparent (no mid-hump, no high-end fizzies) around. The Barber LTD SR is another one.

I got the Timmy because I never use the boost on my FD2, and I figured I wouldn't use the boost on the Tim either. Plus, the Timmy is smaller. Tim is a BIG box.

FWIW, I had a hard time deciding which one to keep: Timmy or LTD SR. I kept the Timmy. But it was pretty close.

Also: if you find you WANT more mids out of Timmy, turning UP (cutting) the Bass & Treble will give you more mids. Not Tubescreamer-ish mids, but mids.

i think having a boost running into a timmy sounds better and give you more options than running one after... so booster... then timmy.. and wait for paul c to catch up on his wait list and get a tim from tonefactor for $169. then decide.
