how about a wah or a nice dirt pedal? a good fuzz box always gives a tone you can't get from just an amp. not sure what prices are like on the other side of the pond, so i'm not sure what you'd get for your money.

What kind of music do you play. That will probably be the biggest factor in determing what to recommend. Having said that...

+2 on the pitchblack or TS9.

Pitchblack = awesome tuner

TS9 = Great overdrive/distortion.

The BBE Green Screamer is a TS9 with slightly more bite potential....it's my favorite Dirt Box. The Boss SD-1 (it's yellow) is another good one. The TS9 is a classic but it just doesn't have enough gain for me. I've bought three of the TS9's and I've tried to love them but I've sold each of them.

santa left a voodoo labs sparkle drive under the tree for me. so far its the best gear honeymoon i've ever had. does the TS9 thing as good or better than any i've tried, and this clean boost/blend knob is like adding a second amplifier to the overall sound. very very intriguing.

Local GC stores have the Vox wah for $90, and you get a nice Vox cable to boot.

Add some dough to that $100, and you can get a Fulltone Fulldrive 2.

If you can wait a bit on that BBE Green Screamer, I've been seeing GC put them on sale from time to time for $49.99.

Depending on your style of music, a volume pedal can also be a REAL handy device.
