$25 gc gift certificate=New Pedal

Right now I'm thinking of adding a vibe. So due to costs it's come down to the danoelectros. So is it the Chicken Salad or it the extra $25 worth upgrading to the cool cat vibe?

I'd go with the Cool Cat vibe. I checked out the drive pedal yesterday, and the build quality is really pretty good. The case is metal, it has real jacks (connected to the case with real nuts), and a positive action TBP switch. It should hold up for a long time.

IIRC, it's essentially the same electronics as the Chicken Salad, just more robust. I have a number of Dano "deli" pedals, and most of them failed after a few months - usually bad jacks.

so I called GC yesterday to find out if they had one in stock and if they didn't could they just order it for me to pick up friday night...I was actually going to try and integrate the new effect at a gig....Anyway they say they couldn't order it today but can when I come in friday night before the gig....So yeah hopefully I don't walk out with a $150 microvibe, my wife would be pissed.

One of these days I'll pick up a Cool Cat, if only for that wet/dry blend knob - very handy when using vibe after OD as sometimes it can 'take over' the sound a bit much. Having the blend knob allows you to pull the vibe back in the mix a tad.

Yeah thats an interesting thing. I've seen people putting them in front of distortion in the chain but I figured it would go between trem and chorus or after OD and before delay.

You definitely get a different sound pre vs post OD... I like it post-OD but I find with my MicroVibe sometimes its too much of a good thing. Been looking for a replacement that has a blend knob. The Dano is certainly the bang-for-buck candidate.

I love the Chicken Salad - I don't know if the new CC Vibe is the same circuit or not, but it likely is AND it's in a sturdier housing w/true bypass.

So I went into gc tonight and they couldn't even order the pedal for me because they've never carried it in stock before. So at this point I guess I wait a while and then get a decent Vibe pedal or make my own when I see a decent kit out there.

I went to GC on Sat and got the same response when I asked for the Cool Cat Tremolo. It's on the website, so I thought they'd have it. Oh well.

So instead I used the coupon for a new guitar strap and a set of strings for the Epiphone Japan Les Paul Custom that I just bought. Can't wait 'til it arrives!

It's a pretty dumb excuse but whatever. I'm going to get a BYOC phaser and mod it to be a univibe.
