Noisy power source

I'm using a Boss PSA wall wart to power my chain of 3-5 pedals. I get a high pitch um out of every amp. Cheaper wall warts make it worse. Are there any quiet power sources out there?

I use a godlyke one spot kind of deal and have had no problems.

imo Wall warts are bad news. I don't know what you have your side of the pond but a big multi-outlet PSU usually does the trick.

I had a similar problem with my previous wall wart and bought a Visual Sound 1 Spot. I'm as quiet as a mouse now.

Do you also have this noise problem with your pedals powered by batteries ?
if yes, it's not your power supply...
if no, then has the ac in your home/playing space been checked ?
if the ac proves to be ok, then i'd bet your fx chain has a ground loop problem....

If it does turn out to be your power supply you might benefit from either the One Spot from Visual Sound, The DC Brick from Dunlop, or the Pedal Power 2 from Voodoo Labs. Its best to have a dedicated power supply then those wall warts. Plus you can use different voltages via the DC Brick and Pedal Power 2.

Though pricey, the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 has isolated outputs which can run almost any combination of dc stompboxes without noise. I had problems using a Line 6 Tonecore pedal in a chain-- the VS Spot 1 website blames it on the ToneCore's bad power filtering. At any rate, the PP2's isolated outputs solved the problem.

Check out gigrig.com.
I've got a few different power supplies including the Voodoolab Pedal Power.
Gigrig gets my vote, by a long way.

Smaller footprint, cheaper and more modular.
Check them out.

What pedals are you using? Some Boss and Digitech (cheaper pedals...please don't take offense) inputs and outputs don't play well with others and actually create noise. I would try removing pedals from the signal chain 1 at a time to find the culprit. At least that would be a good place to start.
