The new Boss DD7 does it well. $159 and a great all around delay.....it also has a modulation and and analog setting!

i believe the Boss SG-1 was the original pedal for a reverse guitar sound.
it's all just an approximation of that sound though (basically an envelope controlled volume swell)- I've tried the SG-1 and didn't particularly care for it- it's a trick best left for the studio. I do love that George Harrison Revolver sound though. maybe more modern units do it better, i don't know. Reverse DELAY (reverb, echo), a la Phil Collins, is something that you can't even really come close to approximating in a live setting, just by nature of the beast (unless maybe you have a needlessly complex midi set-up with a previously recorded copy of pre-echos sync'ed up- actually, maybe not that complicated but then it's not really "live", either- off on a tangent here, sorry). |

You could also use a volume pedal. It'd be more involved than just clicking on a delay and playing the same as usual would, though.

The DigiTech DigiDelay has a reverse echo effect that's kind of uncontrollable, but cool-sounding in its own right. I use it at the end of "Strawberry Fields Forever" when playing live and it really fits. The DigiDelay also has a good tape echo function, and a great "ping-pong" stereo echo effect that works particularly well in my low-budget, '70s and '80s gear-based home recording studio, and with a guitar and two amps.
I got mine for $99. |

I have the DL4 and various rack-mounted devices that do the job.
The DL4 is fine- but it does change the guitar sound if you are using it on the front end of an amp. Best run in the FX loop.

Line 6 Echo Park has a "reverse" setting. I found it a little difficult to use, but that's just me. Samples and info here: http://line6.com/tonecore/echoPark.html
