For a stomper with 3 knobs, it really does have many possibilities. All which produce sounds that inspire me to play more. I just started messing with different spots in my chain of effects last night. So good...

Have it and love it, but find it more practical on the bass than on the guitar...
![]() It tracks fantastic unless an open string is played in the mix, in which the harmonics seem to confuse the thing a bit. Still, it tracks better than the others we've tried: Boss, Ampeg octave pedal, EBS Octabass...the micro POG reigns supreme in the tracking dept. With the EBS BassQ or Bootsie Bass Wah while being preceded by the Moollon Comp it's amazing to hear what the lower octave can do, being clear and thumpy yet without too much low freq boominess. Very funky combination and heaps of fun on faster comp settings. Our favorite setting is Comp > POG(octave up 3:00, dry 4:00 > Boss Chorus(slow and deep) > a little hall reverb > picking on the bridge pickup with some serious parallel 5ths, it's just like Simon Gallup doing some of the Cure's best moments. On guitar in octave up setting for 12 string effect, it sounds quite tinny and lifeless, hardly a replacement for our Ric 360-12 and I wouldn't recommend it as a satisfactory substitute. However, setting the upper octave to about 11:00~12:00 with the dry at about 4:00 can sound pretty chimey in a mysterious way. |
