Weird Gain Problem with Pedal
Hello all,
I bought the indyguitarist effects mod ebook a little while ago and have been modding my Boss DS-2. I've now run into a problem. Basically, every second time I click the pedal on there is more gain, more treble and less distortion. What I mean is, when I initially engage the pedal it sounds the way it's "supposed to" but if I disengage the pedal and then re-engage it there's suddenly a touch more gain, the tone is brighter and the distortion is less full. If I disengage and then re-engage again the pedal is back to sounding "normal". At first I thought it was my imagination but it's definitely happening. Unfortunately since it took me awhile to notice I'm not sure at what stage of modding it started. All I've done thus far for mods is change two resistor values and replace all of the stock .047uf caps with metal film caps. I did mess around with a few of the diodes but I didn't get all of the parts I ordered so I put everything there back to stock until I do. I'm assuming it's because of a cold solder joint somewhere, or maybe a dying component but I'm not looking forward to desoldering everything and redoing it so I thought I'd check if it could be something else first. Thanks in advance.
