Claptons Effects on " Bad Love "?

For some reason I have been obsessed with playing this song lately. What does E.C. use to achieve that cool sound at the beginning of the song? Please help me end my obsession. My wife will thank you!

not sure about the album version... (its a decent, fairly recent clapton song) though i know from an interview, that at about that period of time he was using a little chorus and delay... at least in the live shows. he kicks in that internal active mid boost on his strats for solos, and also usually has a wah wah for the old cream tunes. i also think that at that time he was using soldano amps. believe he's using dr Z's now... though i saw a recent picture where hes using 3 or 4 fender deluxe reverbs (maybe). not sure what, if anything, he uses for the old swirling hammond b3 speaker sound(s), if he still needs it.

he switches amps every few years or so... but, so do i.

anyone please correct me if im wrong cause my memory is questionable...

I always thought it was a Wha-wha.

The primary effect I hear is a wah-wah. That should get you in the ballpark.

No Z's for Clapton. He is a Tween Twin guy....either original, reissued, or custom cloned.

At the time of that album Clapton had a huge system with Soldano amps and a rack full of effects. Always seemed wrong to me...

There was a lot of chorus on his tone on from Behind The Sun onward though he has gone back to basics recently.

Definitely a wah and the mid boost on his guitar into a soldano amp. There was also a bit of acoustic simulator in the bridge of the song cos when he played that live he always used to play that on the strat and Phil Palmer was also playing a strat.
