Weird (nice) Looper Side Effect
I'm enjoying my Boss looper...getting handy with it.
I'm having out-of-body listening experiences...I did not expect this. Have you ever heard a live recording of yourself and you hear something in your tone that you just cannot hear while you are playing? I seem to be having that sort of experience over and over with the looper. I'm starting to wonder if we hear licks in our head while we play them live I'm wondering if this colors what we think we're hearing. I was playing my Melody Maker clean with just a tiny edge or grit tonight and when I would stop and listen to the multi track loops I was hearing a hollow wooden quality that I don't hear when I'm playing the licks. I loved the tone. I could hear the different amounts of grit in the separate loop layers (they all sound unique because I was play the different parts with different right hand dynamics). It's really cool to hear it all. I would play some stuff...then listen. Play more stuff....then listen. It's almost like having a friend play your guitar at you except it's you playing your guitar at you. I'm digging the listening. I don't think I'm nuts. Comments? John
