I've had one for 20 years and I really like it. I've never tried the SD-1, but both the Turbo and non-Turbo modes have their good uses, to my ears.

The difference is that the OD-2 has two drive modes (Turbo and non-Turbo), whilst the OD-3 is just a straight-up overdrive unit, more like the OD-1 or SD-1, although I've never tried that either.

I've had one for a very long time. I haven't used it much for the last couple of years but still find it to be useful. it has some quirks like other BOSS ODs of the past such as bass gets tucked in. i did some very minor mods to address some of the issues and it's better.
