Boss Reverb Pedal
I have seen posts on this site from people who dislike this pedal. I tried one out at Guitar Center recently and thought it sounded great. Help me out here; what am I missing or not hearing? Why do you think this pedal sucks?

Boss reverb?
Compare it to a really good amp reverb (Bogner, Dr.z, Occasional Marshall) and you'll hear the metallic tin sound that happens after the note.
But every speaker is different. I have 5 different speakers that all make my reverb sound totally different. So I'm sure with the right speaker & amp & guitar the Boss reverb may be the perfect fit. (try the Verbzilla for really nice Verb).

WHich one? I agree that DD3, dd5 and dd6 are too digital sounding. The new DD7 has a high cut setting which sounds like it should really improve on the sound but I have yet to try it. I love my dd-5 with the analogman hi-cut mod. Before it was modded it sounded too obviously digital. With the mod I actually like it better than my old analog delays.

Reverb and delay are very different beasts...do the dd? have delay and reverb? anyway I tried the RV5 on a Fender reverb so I could A/B real verb and digital...I tried the RV5 and the Holy Grail next to it and the RV5 sounded better than the Holy Grail...man the HG was very weak IMHO. between the two I'd take the RV5 but their are many choices out there keep looking i'd say...Im now waiting on a Weber reverb kit....
Cheers ce24

Guitarists generally prefer spring reverb, and something like the Marshall reflector is great for that, the Boss pedals like my RV-3 are better for the "studio" room sound. Electric players use them occasionally but they are favoured more often by acoustic guitarists.
