pedalboard project completed

I'd thought I'd share my completed pedal board.

Hamer T-51 or Fender Blue Flower Tele (CIJ)--->Boss TU2-->Dunlop Crybaby-->Voodoo Lab Microvibe-->ProCo Rat2-->TS9 (analogman 'brown' mod)-->Fulltone FD2-->Boss RV3-->Tone King Imperial Amp. Power supplied by the Dunlop DC Brick; The FD2 runs at 18V.

I end up driving the FD2 with the TS9 sometimes for leads or switch over to the lead channel of the Imperial.

Already I have some add-ons in the wings: a volume pedal of some sort (for faux pedal steel licks) and I have a Dano French Toast that I'd like to put into another box.

The pedalboard slides nicely into a 2 space rack case with for protected traveling. I'd like to find a lighter but still protective case for it.

Well done

Not the fanciest or most aesthetically pleasing I've ever seen, but, just like Eric Johnson's slab of plywood, it looks very functional/utilitarian. Everything else is extraneous, anyway.
Bet you could find a padded, softcase (gig bag) for a laptop, keyboard, or something of that size, that would do the trick.

How did you...

Secure the effects to the board?

Looks like...

he drilled holes and ran zip ties through the holes in order to secure the pedals to the board. I've seen that before, very good idea if you do not want to put velcro tape on your pedals.

Yep, Zip ties

I was either too lazy or too darned cheap to go with velcro, which does prohibit moving the pedals around.

I went with a nice piece of 0.75inch plywood and sanded the whole thing smooth and put handles and small rubber feet on it. Very utilitarian, which is what I was after.

Interesting arrangement

What's the thought behind the pedal placement?

pedal placement

As far as pedal placement is concerned, I went with this school of thought: The pedals I engage (on/off) most frequently on the fly, I put at the "bottom" of the board for easiest foot work, and those that get turned on and left on (or the tuner) are in harder to "reach" areas.

I did constrict myself to that size board so it would fit (slide) in a two-space rack case (with the rack rails removed).

The wall-wart transformer for the DC Brick is also zip-tied to the top of the board (above wah) so I just plug the extension cord in and play away.
