Going homebrew fellas, power screamer, CPR, dos mos maybe?

After hearing the great stuff from homebrew electronics. ive decided to sell my fulldrive, keeley blues driver, and keeley compressor and trust me the tone of these pedals are worth it.

I haven't tried any of the ones you mentioned, but FWIW I love my HBE Medicine Bawl Wah. The internal gain and sweep controls are user-friendly and really make for some tweaking fun.

I've got their Compressor and Chorus and both are excellent...very well built and sound great. I'd like to hear their power screamer and delay pedal sometime.

I don't now about the CPR, the Audio Demo available on the Home Brew Electronics website leaves a bit to be desired in my opinion. I wouls like to hear more applications of it, especially with a tele, and not just position-2 on a Strat...a sound that tends to homogenize everything it goes along with.

IMHO, from what I can tell from my own findings, the Keeley is still the best Comp out there.

JMHO!!

Well, can you record a little MP3 demo of the comp and post a link to it here on the forum?

Many thanks in advance,

Ward

I love the HBE stuff, and have a bunch: Powerscreamer, Hematoma, Mimic, THC, Germacide, Lorba Fuzz. All great pedals. However, I am not sure that much of anything short of a rack unit would replace my Keeley compressor.

Of the other pedals, I use the Mimic with my acoustic, and the Lorba occupies a permanent place on my pedal board. I find the Gremacide a really cool pedal that works way better with my son's SG than it does with any of my teles or strats. Hematoma has a permanent place on my Bass board. The Powerscreamer and the THC are great, but they are edged out by things that I like a bit better, usually. But they are brought out occasionally, when I want a particular sound.

I've never recorded a clip to post on-line, but I do have the equipment to do it. Homebrew does have a compressor clip at their home page:

http://www.homebrewelectronics.com/

If you submit a clip to them, you can win a pedal. I see they don't have any chorus samples, so I definitely need to do that!

I had the chip mod done on my Power Screamer and I've been happy with it. I bet it sounds even better on the Big D, though... did the chip push it a little more towards the Larry Carlton/Robben Ford (Dumble-ish) tones?
