Ibanez Analog Delay

Anybody have one of these, going to try one out instead of Boss DD3, all I really want is some slapback

Never tried one of the analog Ibanez units, but picked up an old DL-10, digital delay, which is a most impressive little device. Great sound on the cheaps.

It'll definitely do it.

I have an old Ibanez AD-9. I like it a lot. Also does a very nice warm delay that reminds me of the Michael Schenker's delay sound on the live album, "One Night at Budokan."

I have both

and the DD-3 is currently off my pedalboard. The dd-3 is a great little pedal, but the ad-9 just has the warmth in its repeats that give it a great, retro sounding slapback. The only drawback to the ad-9 is that the delay is not that long.

I would also suggest looking at an MXR Carbon Copy. I have heard it is everything the ad-9 is plus longer delays and modulating effects are possible on the repeats. I plan on checking one out myself. Good Luck!

Initially was going to get the Carbon copy, but I have heard lots of people have complaints about their units. Also, they are hard to find, I only want a short delay, The Maxon is too expensive, and they are both made by the same company so it should be quality, will let you know how l like it
Jim
PS- there is one lying around the back of the stage where the worship team sets up, old beat up one with delay written in magic marker

Ibanez pedals are now manufactured by some other fiirm. Maybe Sabine? Not sure.

Nisshin Onpa/Maxon no longer manufactures any Ibanez pedals.

The current AD-9 has nothing in common (other than name and styling) with the original AD-9.

no but the maxon ad 9 is. which was recently discontinued because they ran out of the delay chips so had to change its design a little and re-named it the to ad 9 pro.

i bought a maxon ad 9 in mint conditon about 2 months ago for 150 bucks which is less than half the price in mint condition.

i find lots of great things on ebay!

Nisshin Onpa owns Maxon. Nisshin Onpa was contracted by Ibanez to manufacture pedals for Ibanez up to but NOT including the TS808 Reissue.

During that time, some Ibanez pedals were not manufactured by Nisshin Onpa such as the TS-7 (Sabine?) and most likely the plastic "5" series as well.

For instance, the original TS-808 was merely a rebranded Maxon OD-808. This circuit was developed at Nisshin Onpa by a Maxon engineer.

Some pedals under the Maxon brand name didn't have rebranded Ibanez counterparts such as the very fine ST-01 Super Tube Screamer.

Then there's the Maxon OD-880 Overdrive/Soft Distortion, perhaps the world's first overdrive pedal? I'm almost 100% sure that was never issued with the Ibanez name. The OD-880 was reissued in the '90s in Japan. I have one. It's since been "re-reissued" by Maxon as the OSD-9.

Maxon and Ibanez are no longer affiliated. Neither party ever "owned" the other.

HTH!
