If your using a boss TU-2 stompbox tuner you can just use that. Some say its not technically a power supply and may not power all 8. It really depends on the pedals your powering, that would help us.

Here's the one I use for my pedal board for all the 9 Vdc.

http://www.voodoolab.com/pedalpower_2.htm

Not cheap, but works well.

For like two or three pedals, this can be a good choice

http://www.visualsound.net/1spotcombo.htm

My son uses the 1spot and he likes it. One problem with the onespot is the potential for ground loops, but as a power supply, it is ok. Probably much like the Godlyke.

I currently use a 1-Spot, which is affordable and pretty good, though lately I have been thinking about getting the power supply made by Gator:

As I have read some good reviews about it on websites other than MF, and it seems to be within my price range and needs.

I have a TU-2 tuner on my board. How do you use it as a power supply???
This is really interesting.
My board has a TS-9, a TS-10 and a tuner. There are a couple of other pedals but they require their own power source.
So how do you use the TU-2

I have a smaller board (still adding) but al u need is a daisy chain which you can buy the roland one for like twelve bucks at GC. I dunno how many mine powers yet but I know when I try something bigger after a few pedals it doesn't work. pm with any questions.

I use a 1spot for the 5 or six pedals I ahve now. That's what works with the daisy chain piece that came with it. If I was gonna do more pedals than that, I'd be a little nervous about using the 1 spot and might go for a better one like the Voodoo Labs or similar.

If, like Gary I was only powering a couple, I'd use my TU-2. You just grab a daisy chain like goes with the 1Spot.

Depends on the pedals. I used a OneSpot for a while but some were noisy so I ended up using a couple of separate power supplies for those which kind of defeated the purpose. I picked up a used Pedal Power and I tell ya, it's all it its cracked up to be. Well worth it if you're really serious about your sound.

I'm happy with the Dunlop DC Brick, a mid priced unit that is well designed.

8 pedals?
I would go with the Voodoolab Pedal Power 2 and be done with it.

They work great- I have two (230v and 110v) and have been around the world with me- never had any issues.

Been very happy with this chap's offering so far, plus a daisy chain... simple and well thought out.

I been using the Visual Sound "1 SPOT" and couldn't be happier. It comes with everything but a "reverse polarity" plug and works on almost every pedal out there.

My signal chain this week is:
GTR>Peterson SS2 tuner>Fulltone Fulldrive 2>Roger Mayer Voodoo One> Boss RT20 Rotary Simulator>MXR Carbon Copy>amp
I will eventually upgrade at a later time but for the money it does the job just fine and no loss of tone.

Might be overkill, but my pedalboard has both the Pedal Power2 and the AC pedal power unit. The board (trailer trash) came to me with the PP2 already mounted. I added the other unit to power an H&K Replex and Van Amps sole mate. One power supply plugs into the other, then one plug to the wall. Sure is convenient, though not light.

Hi folks, Andi here.

We use the PP2 for a number of reasons(regulated source, AC output, 12v, etc.), but have a OneSpot to fill for a few Boss pedals at times as well.

Digital switching power supplies like the Diago, OneSpot, Artec etc are not regulated nor isolated, which means noise can happen along the way, namely with sensitive vintage-spec fuzzes(especially Fuzz Face variants) and some univibe clones. Some clock-based choruses and delays have been known to be introduced to noise along the way as well.

The other potential issue with a digital switching type is the fact that if one is close to being overloaded you run the danger of getting a moment of hiss (i.e. circuit burn) and an explosive bang that may very well fry the entire Daisy chain...Although I've yet to disassemble one to see if the circuitry safeguards the output along the way.

All in all, if it's quiet for you and you're powering way under 1.7amps of goodies, I wouldn't have a problem with them in general, but believe that $150 for regulated power source with a proper transformer in it is a nice investment that costs as much as many of us spend on a pedal, yet worth the whole board IMHO.

I used my TU-2 + PSA-120 + daisy chain for a while, it works fine and I had no problems, but recently I got three more pedals with around 250ma, thats when I got a OneSpot. IMO its much better then the TU-2 method, the daisy chain is much longer and has right angles which helps with my pedalboard.

I liked the simplicity of the one-spot but had some noise issues.

I'm currently using a BBE supa-charger and it's great (silly name notwithstanding): dead quiet and solidly built.
