Just bought CS-3 From Guitar Center - Broken?
I dunno if they're getting of all the display models in your are or not but in mine they are. I bought the display model of the CS-3. Cosmetically flawless not a scratch. Doesn't turn on. I didn't even think to check it I just tried out of the ones they already had plugged in. Took it apart and I know nothing about these but look to the bottom left of the circuit board. Are those supposed to be like that.

I'm no electrical engineer, but those caps certainly don't look good to me!

Ummmm, yeah. Those caps are goners. I'd be pretty pissed with GC right about now if I were you...

It's adhesive used to secure the caps. Note it's also used where the flex cable attaches.
Anyway, I wouldn't bother trying to trouble shoot it other than making sure it's plugged in. Just return it and get your money back. |

I only paid like 40 for it, if its an easy fix its worth it to keep because cosmetically its brand new.

usually stores and manufacturers frown on people taking apart their products before asking for their help, you may have just voided any applicable warranty. (hate to rain on anyone's parade)

I've tried it with both. The same power supply for two other boss pedals. I even took those off. Its not the power supply I determined. I don't care what it looks like inside as long as it works. How much would it be to get someone to fix it?
Update: The Jag at GC (the manager) told me it was sold so cheap because they knew it had problems! WTF? The bottom of it says 70$. Now they're trying to to me it wasnt a display model which is absolute bs because it has absolutely no wear on it at all. I traveled 45 minutes to the farther guitar center to buy it because I saw it was such a good deal on the Used gear section of GC's Website. He said I can't return it to my local one.
