My AC Booster is a keeper. It is the only gain/overdrive pedal that has stayed on my pedal board for a whole year.

I got caught up in the hype and bought an RC booster. Got rid of it pretty quickly. I found it to be a silly, expensive toy. It was useless to me, a waste of money IMO. I can do a much better job just riding the volume knob.

I love my BB preamp. Versatile pedal and sounds good in all my amps. It has way more dirt on hand than I'll ever need.

I've got RC, BB and XBlender. BB is on its way out (up for sale now) but I don't think I'll get rid of the other 2 since they are just so useful.

Not a toy for me, it's an on-the-job tool.

I'm a booster freak at heart. I gig the RC weekly and love it. As to venue size and volume constraints, or the quirks of sound techs, the RC is a master volume/gain and master EQ at my feet. I dig it because, regardless of whether I've brought too much or too little amp to the room, I can find a happy medium.

Something I like about boosters in general is that they can actually enhance the dynamic range across the travel of a volume pot, and as a knob twiddler, this is invaluable to me. I also love the fact that with a booster on board, I'll never ever again find myself lost within a loud live band mix. Additionally, boosters are great for matching outputs of various instruments; I couldn't imagine playing guitar, mandolin, banjo, and lap steel at a show without a booster on board.

Boosters rock!

AC Plus is a great backup od if I can't use my amp at a gig for some reason, and super useful as a boost into the front of an amp as well. Love it, planning on getting a BB when I have some dough.
