Anybody using a rondo pedalcase?

http://www.rondomusic.com/pedalcases.html

At first glance... Prices are low, simple design, lockable hard case. What's your experience with them? Which size did you buy?

I've been eyeing the small one. I have a big RockCase that I no longer need or want to carry.

Buy one and check it out. Kurt has a "no questions asked" return policy. But I will say that Rondo's products are usually "as good" for the money but usually BETTER than the price.

I have one and a few people over at the Fender Forum have them. Soft material inside covered by thin aluminum. I own the middle size – just large enough for three boxes and a wah. They lie flat, not angled.

General consensus – OK, for home or occasional outside use. Wouldn’t stand up to regular gigging.

I have one that I used quite a bit in the last few months.
I glued another sheet of aluminum to the bottom half and then attached about 12 lbs of pedals to that. I have the medium size. I was shipping the case in my luggage while on tour in europe and canada. Worked out fine. Its not a heavy duty case, if it were carried or shipped without some cover or protection it wouldn't last long, but its held up this far. Not too bad for the $$$. I suppose if it broke I would buy another one. I've noticed other guys using them lately. I did ask kurt if he could get the supplier to make a unit with thicker base plate. He said it was in the works.

I have the extra large extra wide. I picked it up at Rondo when it was still a brick and mortar store in NJ

It's fine for home and for local gigs if treated gingerly. If you are going to do a lot of gigging look for something sturdier

The weakest part are the latches and hinges. I've heard some users with a heavy foot have bent the aluminum lip.

Thanks for the input. I have the large case coming in today. It'll be for home and local gigs, so it sounds like it will work out well. Right now, all my stomps are in a basket and the hassle of getting them out and connected is a pain, not to mention packing them up for a trip.
