Does using a cable such as the planet waves allow mor highs to come through..I find when using these so called quality cables that my sound seems more trebley as opposed to using say a standard fender guitar cable...

One school of thought is to reduce excess highs at the amp end, instead of turning up treble there. That way you are not adding highs with the amp, which of course allows highs generated by noise to be amplified. I don't think cables add highs, they just allow them to pass through. On the other hand, do they suppress bass? That's another question that I don't know the answer to.
