John 5 Squier-smokin guitar!!

I will be giving my son his new John 5 Squier Telecaster on Christmas morning....he plays in my band, and its his 1st new guitar. The Strat he plays now is one that I played back in the '80's, sold it to a friend of mine-he had it for about 5 years- I bought it back(for 50 bucks less than what I sold it to him for-it was beat-up!!)gave that guitar to him for Christmas when he was around 14........we tried out the John 5 guitar a few weeks ago.....he loved it!!! And so did I !!!!! Its built like a tank, and its got a killer tone!!!! Now, Im hoping I can set aside some New Years Eve gig money and get me one myself in GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

That gold tele is interesting. I don't usually dig gold hardware but...

those are so cool! its great your son plays with you too. I hope you guys have many years playing the john 5's together. I think they are great just cause I am a huge les paul fan as well as a tele fan, so the john 5 is the best of both worlds, the humbuckers of a gibson style guitar, like a les paul, but with the great shape of a tele!

Great guitars!
I've had my black J5 for quite a while and I love it.
Wouldn't mind adding a gold one to the collection - I think they look very cool.

So how is your son liking the J5? How about some pics or videos of it?

RE;

He's lovin the John 5....and so do I, LOL.....I recently fixed an on-going problem he was having. 4 years ago when he joined my band, he didn't have an amp to use, so I let him use my Hot Rod Deluxe.....well, he didn't like the gain channel, so he bought a Digi-(junk)tech, and was playing his MIJ Strat....well, needless to say, his tones were less-than=spectacular.......that junk-o-tech sounded like a buzzsaw, no matter what you did to it....so, when he got the John 5, I says to him,. "hey, why dontcha plug into my Peavey(VK212) and see how it sounds....well, it SMOKES!!!! Killer tone, and he and I both like the sounds he's getting.....so, I decide to go bACk to the ol Hot Rod Deluxe, picked up a BOSS dirt pedal, and now we're both in tone heaven.....and as soon as my HRDLX extension cab comes, we'll be blowin up the neighborhood!!!
