Fender 73 Pro Reverb (reverb noise)

When I turn the volume on both channels down and turn the reverb all the way up and shake the amp I can hear the reverb making crashing noises.V3(12at7) was lighting up like a christmas tree and very hot. I tried a second tube (12at7) and it also got hot. then I put in a 12ax7 in and now the tube is running it seems the proper temp. Is the noise normal?Is it ok to use a 12ax7 in place of a 12at7? The reverb works but like I said when I turn the volume down and I move the amp I still hear a crashing noise,not real loud but still there.I would really appreciate any input because I am really stumped. Thank you. something I didn't bring up, when I fully unplug the reverb tank the noise goes away,except there is still a slight hiss.

Yes reverb tanks always make that noise when you move the amp-that is normal.

Do a Google search on "reverb tank vibration crash" or similar. Towels, foam, cushioning etc. are your friend. I have cushioned my amp stand even. Every venue is different.

In that amp I wouldn't use a 12ax7 in V-3. A 12at7 or a 12au7 handle more current and that's what you need there.(or so I've been told) The 12au7 has less gain so if you have to set the verb higher to get the same amount.
The springs in the reverb pan make a heck of a racket when the amp is moved. Just don't move the amp when it's on.
Also has the amp had new electrolytic caps yet?

It can also be used as an effect, just give the amp a swift kick to end a solo with thunder.
