My friend did a cool grounding mod on mine to make it graveyard quiet, it's simple but hard to explain over internet. Any interested buyer who knows something and deserves the amp will appreciate a cap job and grounded cord. It may be up to you to educate in your listing :) Good luck! First thing I would do is make sure tubes were properly seated and correct to schematic and that the fuse is correct. Person before you may have done who knows what. Are the tubes original? That'd be nice :)

Thanks guys so much yea it does hum with no guitar plugged in I'll check my inputs now one thing I noticed and don't know if it means anything is when I pulled the head out and checked the can for power without draining it it only had like 1.156 vlts and on the positive side of blue moldedl caps on the inside they also had 1.156 all but one of them wonder if it could be that one. And if I were to try to order the can cap what would I look or ask for and where should I look. thanks guys

Filter cap can in need of replacing can cause some nasty sounds, but a hum could be anything.
The cap can is old and should be replaced, but may not fix your hum. Tubes and more (Antique Electronic Supply) has your can. http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/C-EC20X4-475 |
