Question on Boothill 5f1 (w/10" 8 ohm) and 5e3 PT/OT choices, looking at many sites

All,

I'm looking to purchase the PT/OT's for the 5f1 and 5e3 kits that I got from Boothill Amps.

The 5f1 will be going into a 10" cab from Memphis Amps, and I plan to use a 10" Weber sig 8ohm speaker instead of the usual 4ohm 8". http://www.musicrnr.com/cabinets.htm

I saw today that AES is having a 10% off sale for the month, and they appear to ship orders over $99 for free which I will easily surpass with this order.

So with that in mind, I'm looking for advice/confirmation about what to order.

Looking on the site they appear to have two PT's which are described as "Replacement for Princeton, Princeton Reverb, Champ, Vibro-Champ, and Tweed Deluxe". So out of that list it looks like the same part # covers both my 5f1 and 5e3:
http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-T290AX
http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-TF22772

As for OT's since I'm planning on using a 8ohm 10" on the 5f1, the same 8ohm used on a 5e3, would I therefore use the same OT for both as well?:
http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-T1750E
http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-TF22913

So given that I'm going with a 8ohm speaker on both the 5f1 and 5e3 builds, would the above PT/OT's be correct for both builds?

Thanks,
-TurtleFang

I have not tried this one.

I use this one all the time. I like it. It has been reliable and strong.

Either of these will work for the 5E3, but not for the 5F1.

The 5F1 requires a different OT (look for single ended type)

Here is one that looks good.

Thanks,

Hey Dave,

Thanks for the response.

So I can order two of these and use them on both the 5f1 and the 5e3.

Thanks for the clarification. Would this one work as well (it's non-Hammond lower cost):

Appreciate your help.

Your 5f1 needs a single ended OT. Like this

http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-T1750C

But you are looking for one that supplies and 8 ohm output tap.

This one would work

http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-T31

I use them for 50L6 builds, and they work nice for saturated midrange compression type tone, but they are tiny, so really offer no bass or punch.

This

http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-T125CSE

or this

http://www.classictone.net/40-18031.html

might be a better option.

You need a different PT for the 5E3.

The Champ PT will not fit.

Here's a hefty PT I use for 5E3 :

Thanks for the inputs everyone.

Looks like with the 8ohm OT on the 5f1, it may be better to just buy these two matched pairs for the 5f1 and 5e3 builds:
http://store.triodestore.com/champbundle.html
http://store.triodestore.com/5e3bundle.html

The champ bundle above comes with 4ohm & 8ohm leads, so it should work well for what I'm planning to do.

Let me know if I'm missing anything, else I'll order the sets in a day or two.

Again, thanks for the pointers.

Single sourcing transformers can save you serious money on shipping.
