Weber 6D30

Has anyone built one of these, it looks pretty awesome. I'm selling my Billm modded Blues Junior and I might let my 1960 St. George "The Vibe" go with it. That gives me around $600 for an amp build. I was thinking of the Weber 6D30 head. It looks like an AC30 clone on steroids. I think the effects loop could be useful for me. The main reason I want to build a head is portability. My 66 Super Reverb is so heavy, sometimes I just don't want to take it. I don't want to use the Junior though, it isn't in the same league as the SR. I could also use the half power switch on the 6D30. I tried to find as much as I can about this head or combo, but there isn't much info on it.

Looks very awesome, and a very intense build. I'd go for it if you have lots of experience. If you really like your Super Reverb you could just build one of those or something similar into a head.

I was thinking of that, but I don't want two amps that sound the same. I think I can build the 6D30, it will take some time though. I've built a 5E3 out of a Magnavox console amp. I also built a Fender 6G15 reverb unit clone. The Magnavox is actualy 50 watts, so it's similar to the Weber Double Deluxe. It's actualy kind of my own circuit. It was my first build too, I got lucky with that. It does have a bad grounding issue though, it hums pretty bad.
