16 Ohm speaker help needed.

Hi,

My kit maker strongly suggests a 16 Ohm speaker and I'm having a custom cabinet made for a .5 or 2 watt 10" combo amp.

It looks like the 16 Ohm and 10 inch speaker desire limit my options. I want my amp to be able to sit on a desk top and be fairly narrow so my thoughts are the larger than most little amp speaker would help make more percussive sounds but a 12" would be too big.

Any suggestions for a 10" low power and ideal at lower volumes setup?

Thank you.

Look up Ted Weber, his signature series is probably right up your alley, and he does make 16 ohm speakers...

You might also want to think about an 8" speaker-still very percussive, and in the right cabinet, shouldn't be much difference in sound...

You often can find 10", 16 ohm, 15-20 watt vintage ROLA speakers on flea-bay fairly cheep.

Eminence Legend 10516.

I wish there were as many choices in 10" 16 ohm speakers as there are in 12".
