Never mind, it's a string through. Maybe you could drill your original plate. I've seen several that people have made.

It came with the mini 500k pots and I replaced...

It came with the mini 500k pots and I replaced them with full size 250k pots which reduced a little bit of the highs. The main difference is the pots and switch just feel better when you operate...

Don't the bridge pickup on a strat bypass the tone circuit? It could be some frequency that's not getting through on the tele.

I believe that the Fender Custom Shop uses Texas Specials in the Stealth Esquire. I'm not sure if they're stock or custom wound. Also maybe the pick guard material makes a difference.

The nut slot is probably angled back toward the fretboard instead of the head stock, which lets the string sit on the head stock edge of the nut and touch the fretboard edge when it's vibrating.
