Good sources for computer recording info?
First, let me thank the many TDPRIers that have provided excellent information (as always) that helped my take the plunge into computer recording. Now that I've gotten the basics down, I would like to know if you recommend any other information sources (sites, forums, magazines, etc.). At this point, I've got lots to learn so basic/intermediate education is what I'm after.

Here's a few websites.
This one is a real gem http://www.hometracked.com/ This one really explains the gear well but doesn't have loads of info.http://www.doctorproaudio.com/doctor/temas_en.htm This is my favorite website, it's a paysite but all older articles and reviews etc can be accessed just not newer stuff. http://www.soundonsound.com/ Magazines EQ Future Music Sound on Sound Supposed to be some great books and dvd's out there too. |

www.gearslutz.com is a pretty good forum, seems like some "industry dudes" hang out there (like here!), but as the name implies they're quite GAS afflicted. I spent $2k on a mic/pre/monitors very shortly after joining the forum. Be warned!

http://recforums.prosoundweb.com/ is another great site, full of pros AND home recordists. It's probably a good idea to lurk for a while and use the search feature a lot, it can be a little intimidating sometimes...
Then there's http://womb.mixerman.net/ where I hang out a bit. Lots of good stuff, but it can be an absolute zoo! Be warned! A place that's got some good info and a fairly friendly forum is http://audiominds.com/ but it's got a much smaller membership and can be a little clique-ish. I read it occasionally and post infrequently... Cheers, Tim
