There seems to be alot of interest in this subject out there.
Recording was overwhelmingly the top choice for a new forum subject when Paul took a poll a few months ago. More recently, I started a thread (in the "Forum Problems & Questions section) asking about it again, which lasted for a little while, so I'll throw that back out there & we can bug Paul some more! (Bump it back up! Sorry Paul) http://www.tdpri.com/forum/forum-pro...ing-forum.html |

i, too, have been a cheerleader for a recording forum, but hesitated to push it too hard on accounta not wanting to get on Paul's nerves.
as stated in a previous post, us TDPRI'ers have specific issues, many of them guitar-related, that are hard to sift out from the general recording forums. i'd guess that a huge majority of us are concerned primarily with the audio process for songwriting, demos and so forth ... most of us will never sync up a film score or delve deep into the bowels of MIDI arcana -- or run a professional studio. most posts i see pertain to (1) how do i get this stuff to work, and (2) how can i make it work better -- more musical than technical. for a lot of the older guys (such as myself), the challenge is translating what we learned over decades of recording to tape into the new medium of software and hard drives. if i've got a question or a problem, i'd rather run it by this crew because ignorance isn't scorned around here -- stupidity, yes, but not ignorance! so i'll add my signature to the petition for making a dedicated board part of our community. (easy for me to say, i wouldn't be the one doing the work!) any possibility of this, Paul? if not, just tell us and we'll shut up!

This is the most complete and easiest to understand guide to computer-based recording I've ever seen.

For the toys end of things there's:
http://www.gearslutz.com/ And for general audio topics, there are a number of forums at: http://www.prosoundweb.com ...But I like the idea of a recording forum here as well, for the closer attention that I think we TDPRI'ers tend to pay to one another. Aren't we a nice little mutual admiration society?
