Shock mount???
Ust wondering what a shock mount for a condenser mic actually do???? Sorry for the newbie question but recording is all new to me

Right — for instance, the amount of rumble (foot movement, toe-tapping, etc.) from a wooden floor can be surprising, although a concrete floor's not nearly as bad. ... The shock mount is basically to isolate the mike from any sound except what's coming from the singer or instrument being recorded.
