New CD... give a listen and some feedback.

I finally finished my CD, been working on it for most of last year. Here's a link to cdbaby, give a listen and some feedback.

Well done on finishing it! I hope it goes well for you. Had a quick listen, very surfy and good job with the separation on all instruments.

Just in case anyone might be interested. I recorded all tracks on a Digitech GNX4, then used Acoustica's Mixcraft to edit, mis and master.

Enjoy and have a great day!

No. 2 is my fave! Nice clean production, and I like the way you've handled getting that crisp top end on the twang without getting too pointy. Keep an ear out for 1K-range notes jumping out in your solos. Good on ya, lad, and hope your store prospers!

And btw... I used the Focusrite VRM box for all the editing, mixing and mastering.

Read some more reviews of the VRM this morning, listened again to your mixes ... I'm convinced it's a tool that would be of huge help to me, especially with sorting out the bottom end. But first, I gotta upgrade to some better 'phones.

I got the deal from Sweetwater that includes a nice set of headphones. The price is only $150. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/search.php?s=vrm+box

I only had to waste 2 cd's during the final phase of the project. I think it's a very useful tool.

Sweet! What kind of 'phones are those, and how do they sound?

It's a little "square" for me. I like a little more dirt and some growl here and there.

Hope you take this criticism in the spirit that it's intended. I know when I put stuff out there looking for feedback, I find "wow, that's great!" frustratingly unhelpful.
