Apogee Jam and Pocket Pod
Ok, I'm no pro guitarist but I thought I'd share a quick recording I did using my new Apogee Jam interface. Yes I know I'm not very good as a guitarist but the main point of my post is to show others how easy it is to record a quick song.
This is a slowed down version of Gary Moore's Empty Rooms. It's actually a bit harder to play it slower than it is at normal speed. Not sure why anyway... Here is my setup: Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus into my Line 6 Pocket Pod (set on the factory "Sweetchildofmine" setting, into the Apogee Jam, into my Mac, run on Garageband. I simply took a backing track and played against it. I didn't do multiple takes or re-records. I had the entire thing done in less than 15 minutes from unpacking the Apogee to the finished recording. It's dead easy! I can't wait to mess around and do some real stuff on it. Here is a link... http://soundcloud.com/mark-stevens-3/empty-room-slow

Good to hear you've got your oars in the water ... there's a lot to explore in GB, good luck and have fun!

thanks folks, yeah the apogee is an amazing little piece of equipment. it makes you notice all your little flaws! i sound much better when I play along with a complete song (can't hear all the mistakes!) when I listen to just me against these backing trucks I realize I really need a lot more practice but that's ok... it's all part of the journey.
can't recommend the apogee enough.

Ok, here is something closer to "real stuff" although admittedly there are tons of mistakes. It's tough to be a "wanna be" musician (hobbyist) with a full time job, family, etc and no inherent talent!
Here is a cover of Def Leppard's "Bringing on the Heartbreak." I used a bass/drum backing track. All the guitars were mine. Don't be too hard on me! Its just for fun and I thought I'd share. I love the Apogee. It's a great practice tool. http://soundcloud.com/mark-stevens-3...the-heartbreak

Thanks! I did the lead intro but the backing track came with the second guitar for harmonization. Thanks, I forgot about that part. I think the other guitar is an octave off from mine.

I've been looking for an inexpensive interface. You just sold me. I just ordered one on Amazon. Exactly what I've been looking for, and the fact I can hook it up to my iPhone is even better.
