Looking to get started recording

I want to start recording and using drum tracks for my bass. I ran across this and wanted to get your input. Looks like a pretty good deal for the money. Anybody ever used this? Your thoughts..........

I'm not a user of this particular product but could give you some insight about Cakewalk software as I have been using Cakewalk Sonar products for the past 4 or 5 yrs.

The software is very good. The Guitar Tracks Pro software is very similar to Cakewalk's flagship Sonar. It's basically the same software but it is stripped of certain features that would bog a beginner down. It comes with a selection of virtual instruments and effects that would be able to provide you with the ability to encorporate virtual backing tracks into a project. I don't think there is a magic solution for plug and play audio recording, composition and production, so there will still be a learning curve with this software and it is going to require some patience on your part.

If you purchased the software seperately from Cakewalks online shop you would be looking at $139 If you purchased the audio interface seperately, you would be looking at $99.

The interface is definitely low end especially the amount of available I/O and connector types it uses, but if your ultimate goal is to plug in a bass and jam, well it is setup to do that.

I'm am very biased towards Cakewalk software products so keep that in mind.

I think it looks like a good deal.

Thanks Stuh, that's the kind of information I was looking for. The description is a little sketchy about if the actual software comes with it. I've heard it does and doesn't. I guess I could call them and ask.

If you hit the specifications tab right next to "description" on your link you will see that it is Guitar Tracks Pro 4 software packaged with the usb audio interface.

Here's a link to Cakewalk's product description for Guitar Tracks Pro 4 that will give you an idea of what the software is capable of doing.

Ahhhhhhhh.....what I wouldn't give to have the matching strat.
I was eyeing one up about 6 mnths ago but didn't pull the trigger.

Would also like a matching chrome blue hh tele to go with my hs but it wont be happening anytime soon.
