found a killer trick on podfarm: doubleamps!
hi guys, i almost bought something expensive (amplitude fender) and then i found, that you can hook amps together in podfarm. if you combine the little marshall and a clean fender you have something good, also the overdriven little tweed and a clean fender. just wanted to share this, in case someone is a bit frustrated with the sounds of podfarm. that doubling opens a lot of windows! for free.

I do something similar with my Pod XT Live. It will let me play with two amp sims/effects chains at once. More importantly, it will let me record with those two setups in one stereo track or two individual tracks, while simultaneously recording a clean track with nothing but the raw guitar signal that I can later reamp to my heart's content with the Gearbox plug-in.

You're right, doubling up amps in PodFarm is great, opens up lots of possibilities. Same for recording, I tried this out a few weeks ago.
As for Amplitube, I love it and find the sounds a step up from PodFarm. Got 3 products for the price of one (latest promotion). I really love the Fender amplifiers, so much that I now want to go out and buy the real thing. Amplitube gives you even more options with configuration the sound path. Podfarm is good too, but I find that it takes me quite a while to find a really good sound, and I often spend a whole evening finding sounds and experimenting instead of practicing. |
