Hi everyone. I am a newbie on guitar. I live in an apartment and have a small vox headphone amp. My question is what headphones would you guys recomend? Comfort should be first priorty to allow for long practise sessions. Thanks, Mark.

i've been using the Audio-Technica ATH-M40fs in my home studio for almost 10 years now, and have never seen any need to switch out. they're flat-response phones, so they're not particularly sexy sounding, but they're accurate, durable and quite comfortable. i seem to remember paying just under $100 for them in 1999, but now they're going for $60-$70 online.

I think the ATH-A700 are still a Stereophile A rating. They are now going for just over $100. Try amazon. I have the Grado 325 model (which I got for half price so i won't gripe) but had these ATs been this price when I got mine I would have them instead.

SONY MDR7506 Studio are industry standards, very comfortable, they are studio monitor which means what you hear is what you'll hear on a recording, and will survive an avalanche caused by a earthquake resulting from a volcanic event. or a nasty spill off your desk :)

you might want to check out wireless headphones ... it's one less cord to deal with ... i have two sets of Sennheisers that sound great ... i have always wanted to try them with my Shure Wireless guitar rig, but i have a feeling the dog might be freaked out ...

I picked up a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pros for $80.

They are comfortable and sound great. The earmuffs actually fit over my entire ear unlike my cheap previous set.

zipzoomfly had them for $80 and Guitar Center matched their price.
