Can you record with a Line6 Guitar Port?

I have a laptop that only has a mic in and a headphone out.

Is it possible to record with a guitar port?

I need to record a quick demo tomorrow, and if I have to, I'll setup my mixer and my J-Station into my old desktop, but I'd rather do it with the laptop and the guitar port...

Any advice would be appreciated.

I am able to record into ableton live, but with a weird setup. i can monitor as it records with headphones on, but other configurations ive had have either given me huge feedback or has made my computer's soundcard go crazy and shut down my computer. the quality of the recording was actually pretty fantastic though!

I've used the GuitarPort to record into ACID and Vegas, and I've been happy with the results. . . .

I use a Tone Port UX1 to record in Reaper. I think that's just a marinally fanier version of a guitarport...

I never thought I'd ever use this thing.. I bought it on Craigslist.
It was two of them for I think $50.00. One was broken, and the other one worked fine.
I sold the good one and kept the broken one. When I got my new laptop, I had no way to input at all.

I got the guitar port to work, but it is very touchy. Had a bad pot in it, so I have to have the volume knob just right, or it had no sound at all.

Not bad sounding at all. I wish I could afford the monthly subscription. That would be real fun!
