My take on Cliffs Of Dover

What do you guys think?

This was done in 1 take on all but the intro. I had to splice in the intro.

Sounds good vintage2!
You're a mysterious guy. You should tell us more about yourself. Stuff like what gear are you using to record "Cliffs". This definitely has your own signature while still staying pretty true to E.J.'s version.

The thing that is most striking about your version is the fact that it is a pretty dry recording - not that there's anything wrong with that at all. I am a big fan of Johnson but some of his guitar sounds are almost too effected in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm definitely impressed and would like to hear more! Thanks for the mp3!

I played this with a 1989 Korean Squier strat straight through a pod xt, as I don't have any mics or anything. I modded the bottom tone control to work with the bridge pickup, so I could turn it back a notch. EJ does this as well.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm 22, and I've played for 9 years. I am self taught, and learned this song from ear. It's kind of funny, as I started off playing metal stuff, then heard of this guy Eric Johnson. The rest, is history. His tone is just simply unbelievable, meanwhile still playing just as fast, if not faster than all the fancy hair metal i listened to and played previously. It's like I discovered a whole new universe.

Dang! I'll say ... I suppose anti-Pod knuckleheads would say this sounds bad.

Great job, dude, you got game - glad you discovered EJ. Keep looking, there are others.
