Presonus Firepod sound quality?
This is a bit of a silly question, but enquiing minds want to know
As discussed in another thread I have just gotten a Tech 21 Liverpool & Blonde for my home studio. I can plug these into my analogue mixer (Allen & Heath PA12) and patch into my studio monitors, or plug into the Firepod and again patch in my studio monitors. There is a pretty significant difference in sound quality when I swap between these two paths, the mixer is warmer (& sounds really nice), whereas the Firepod sounds a little sterile. So, is this because the mixer is a better quality interface, or maybe the mixer adds colour and as such is less transparent? Naturally, it's not a problem, but I would like to understand why this difference exists. |
