It appears to be a sample library and midi files to be used with the software 'Superior Drummer 2.0'. I haven't used that product, but I imagine it acts like a virtual instrument and would best be used in a DAW or recording software.

OK, i get it ... thanx, Astro. i've been dragging my heels on MIDI for years, swearing that one of these days i'll take the plunge. i can see how, in this situation, the time invested in writing the MIDI track would pay off in tweakability at mixdown. so ... you could play it in in something close to real time, then tidy it up, then fine-tune your levels in the mix, right? sorry to be a dullard, man, i'm still stuck in drum-machine world!

Superior Drummer 2.0 is a virtual drum instrument that uses sampled drum sounds and its own fx engine to create the sound source. It comes with a limited number of sampled drum content, icluding complete kits, and midi drum patterns.

The Metal Foundry SDX would be a heavy metal expansion giving Superior Drummer 2.0 more drum samples, additional kits and midi drum patterns.

No software would mean Supoerior Drummer 2.0 is not included.

EDIT: someone beat me to it

Yup- you use this within Drumkit From Hell Superior 2.0.

It is a pretty amazing sounding plugin- with a bit of programming it sounds very good indeed.

I did the drums in this track with it.
