Freeware sound editor that has graphic equalizer?

Anyone know of any freeware that has a graphic equalizer ? I downloaded a sound editor, but the equalizer is not very useful. You can't adjust the Frequency bands as you listen to the music (and thus hear the results real time), you have to guess at which frequency to adjust, then update the file to hear the results. If you know of any better freeware for this purpose, let me know...

Thanks!

Kristal Audio Engine is another freebie it only has a simple three band parametric eq but it does host 3rd party vst 2.0 plugins. Just a matter of downloading a free vst eq, and tapping it into Kristal.

Kind of confused on the eq you seek you say graphic. Usually graphic eq are multiband eq's with sliders (frequencies are preset) almost like what you would see on a hi fi stereo system. I'm getting a feeling you want a multiband parametric eq that will display a frequency curve in real time.

free eq plugin search from kvr audio in vst format here http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode...&sort=1&rpp=15

I use Audacity. Free, and the latest version has a graphic eq plugin included. Easy to use, too.

checkout KVR audio...google it or Reaper has plugins that come with it.

Cheers
