FREE Dub Tape Delay plug-in (Mac)

I was surfing around this morning and found this by accident. Since there has been some talk about tape delays in the past, I thought someone might want to try this freebie (donation optional). I don't know anything about it, but the name didn't show up in the forum search so...

KingDubby Tape Delay

Screen shot looks cool.

From their website
Quote:
Works with Intel or PPC Mac, OS X 10.4 and above.

This version is the first step on the road to some cool new features coming for version 2.0 along with VST 3 support on Mac/Windows!
Might be cool might be junk. It's free. Audio Units plug-in should work with GarageBand and Logic, anybody want to test and review?

Groovy!

A little treat for the PC folks then:

The Selector's Free VST Plugins

The tape delay sounds fantastic to my ear - the equal of any high-dollar plugin I've heard - and the dub siren is really fun to play with.

I didn't plan on using this plug-in, but since I started the thread... I did the download and found this:

If you did the download and auto install, you should have a new "Lego block" in your Mac HD>Library>Audio>Plug-Ins>Components>KingDubby.component

From there, any application (GarageBand, Logic) that can use Audio Units, should be able to access the component.

In GarageBand-
  • Open your Track Info (Menu Bar>Track>ShowTrack Info)
  • Expand Details
  • Under Effects click the popup menu
  • In the lower half you should see the Audio Units section
  • Click KingDubby Dub Delay

A lot of effects are a bit overwhelming to me (yeah, I stuck the dub delay on a grand piano). So I hope someone can try the dub-delay and review it for us.

so Eddie, do you find it substantially better than the existing echo plug-ins?

he woody, that thing makes really weird stuff. next week the wheather will get bad here and i think i will find some time to check it out more deeply. just give it a try with some slow notes, it gets funny and wobbly and all.
